Linda Bonnin is Vice President for Strategic Communications at The University of Alabama. Since joining Alabama's senior leadership team in November 2015, she has reorganized and expanded the division from a university relations model to a strategic communications and marketing enterprise.
The Division of Strategic Communications manages internal and external communications, web, social media, graphic design, photography, broadcast production, marketing and brand strategy. Linda also works closely with the areas of licensing and merchandising, enrollment management, athletic communications, advancement and community relations.
Less than a year after her arrival at UA, she created the University’s first comprehensive branding campaign, Where Legends Are Made, which launched nationally in September 2016, and has received numerous industry awards. Additionally, she developed UA’s first digital campaigns, as well as College National Playoffs initiatives in Atlanta, Dallas, Phoenix and Tampa.
Previously, she served as Vice President for Strategic Communications at LSU and Vice President for Communications, Public Relations and Marketing at the University of Memphis, where she worked for 17 years. In addition to her 22 years of experience in higher education, she has worked in the advertising, banking, healthcare and real estate sectors, as well as government and media. Linda has won 67 awards from professional associations for her creative work.
A native of Memphis, she is a graduate of Harding University.
