The Department of Communications provides consistent and clear communication to the university’s key constituencies. We offer a full range of services including strategic communications planning, news and feature writing, media relations, internal communication, and crisis communications, among others.

We provide the latest news and information to UA faculty, staff, students and other constituent groups.

The UA News Center features news for students, faculty and staff, media and research. It also uses video, photography and narrative to tell the UA story to our various audiences, serving as a hub for finding information on campus resources and calendars.

We provide comprehensive media relations services to the University community, working closely with state, regional and national media to publicize student and faculty research, faculty expertise and University programs and events. We also work closely with our communications partners across the University to coordinate media contacts.

Pitching stories to the media

Our communications team is responsible for writing, editing and pitching stories based on news value as it aligns with the four pillars of the university’s strategic plan. It is our priority to identify stories with potential for national and regional coverage that will continue to elevate the academic reputation of our university. Media Training

Crisis Communication

The Department of Communications works closely with university leadership in crisis management and communication to disseminate accurate and timely information. Our professionals focus on developing and executing effective communications plans that enhance and support the goals of the university.
